What to Expect:

  • Some exams require fasting: no food or drink for 8 hours (small sips of water for medication are okay).
  • You’ll lie comfortably on an exam table while a warm gel is applied to your abdomen.
  • A handheld device (transducer) is used to capture images of blood flow to your organs.
  • The test is painless, non-invasive, and usually takes 30–45 minutes.
  • You can return to normal activities right after.
